Vamika Sinha
I am an independent arts and culture journalist, editor, and copywriter based in London. I am the Deputy Editor at Wasafiri and a senior editor and columnist at the South Asian Avant-Garde Anthology.
Previously, I was a founding editor-in-chief of Postscript Magazine, a global, online, independent literary-arts publication based in the UAE, for five years.
My research interests include cosmopolitanism, migration, postcolonial feminism, diasporic narratives and relationships to the nation-state, and intersections of all of the above within visual art, literature, and film. Due to my own background, I am especially interested in covering artists and practices from the Global South, particularly the South Asian, SWANA, and southern African regions.
I am always open for writing commissions or collaboration opportunities. In the Writing tab, you can find all my portfolio links. I primarily write about visual art as well as general cultural criticism and have copywriting experience for social media, luxury hotels and brands, and visual arts PR. I occasionally publish creative work, including essays and poetry.
I was the first writer-in-residence at Bayt al Mamzar in Dubai and I’ve previously spoken about my practice here, for the Khosh Bosh podcast.
My arts reporting on shows and exhibitions spans the following cities:
Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Basel, Dubai, Dublin, Istanbul, London, Metz, Nîmes, Paris, Rhein, Sharjah, Turin, and Winterthur.
B.A. Hons. Literature & Creative Writing (NYU Abu Dhabi)
